About The Golf Course

About The Golf Course
Pryors Hayes Golf Course is located in the picturesque Cheshire countryside just six miles from the historic walled city of Chester.

It is situated off the A54 between Chester and Manchester in the village of Oscroft and is within easy reach of Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and North Wales.

It is an 18-hole course and was designed by John Day, an internationally renowned golf course architect.

Pryors Hayes was officially opened in June 1993 and has quickly established a reputation for being a friendly Club with excellent catering facilities. Visitors and societies are offered a warm welcome and many return each year.

The Clubhouse is a cosy pine log cabin with a truly welcoming atmosphere. It has a lounge/restaurant, well stocked bar and a television lounge with satellite TV. The clubhouse offers tasty hot and cold food and a choice of mouth watering menus for societies and advanced group bookings.

The Pro Shop offers a wide range of golf equipment and accessories to satisfy your every golfing need. We are specialist stockists for Wilson and Titleist Golf Clubs, Etonic, Addidas and Footjoy golf shoes, Galvin Green, Greg Norman and Sunderland clothing and a wide range of accessories.

Our Teaching Professionals are available throughout the year and offer group and individual tuition in the summer months for both adults and children.

The Club operates an equal rights policy for both male and female members. The club is privately owned, but the members are responsible for the organisation of all golf competitions via various committees.
Pryors Hayes is an 18-hole parkland course set in very peaceful surroundings. The front nine holes have two par 4 holes over 450 yards and the par 3 sixteenth requires nerves of steel.

Extensive use has been made of the ponds that exist on the course and these come into play on eight of the 18 holes, but the main feature of the course is its small greens, which require thoughtful and accurate approach shots.

One society summed this up with the following comment: - “It provided us with the sort of challenge we were looking for, demanding good accurate play but without the physical effort needed to play some of the hilly courses in the Cheshire/North Wales area”
